寝かしつけの時に、早速絵本と音源を使ってみました！じっーと絵本を見てくれ、絵本が終わると気持ちよさそうにしてすーっと寝ました。私もリラックスできましたし、良い絵本に出会えてよかったです♡

GuguとPenfinの絵本は名前入りで7歳の甥っ子と2歳の姪っ子にプレゼント。すると甥っ子は、毎晩寝る時に本を開きながら朗読を聞いているようで、しばらくして会ったら、はじめのほうのフレーズを覚えていて、しゃべって聞かせてくれました。
何回か朗読を聞いたあとは、ベッドサイドに本を広げて立てておくのだそうです。良い夢が見れそうだから、とのことで。
小さい妹がいるので、ペンフィンを指しながら〇〇ちゃん、とか呼んだりしていて、感情移入しながら、ストーリーのなかに入っていけるようです。
ただ、実は書いてある英語の意味はよくわかっていないらしく、日本語でも読んで、とせがまれるので、ならばと、マスキングテープに日本語を書いて、一緒にそれを絵本（に直接貼ってしまうと、絵が見えなくなってしまうことに気づき、小さめに絵をコピーしてファイリングしたのもに）に貼りつけてみました。
日本語は自分で上手に朗読できるので、絵本とファイルを両方ならべて、日本語を読んだり、レイチェルの朗読を聴いたりして2倍楽しんでくれています。

絵がキレイでかわいく、とてもほっこりします。今は日中に読み聞かせてますが、少し成長したらお休み前に読むのに良いのだと思います。なんと言っても色づかいが美しいので、子どもの美的な感性を養うのにと良いのかもです。
絵本内の英語も平易で短い文なので読みやすいです。
音声を子どもの名前入りでオーダーメイドで頂き、感動です！

この絵本に出会うまでは，「まだ寝たくない！」「もう1冊絵本読んで！」と寝る前の儀式がどんどん長くなっていましたが、Gugu and Penfinの絵本が我が家に来てからは、自分からベッドに入り、1人で寝てくれるようになりました。
毎晩、すてきな朗読を聞いているためか、出だしのフレーズを暗唱して聞かせてくれるようにもなりました。かわいいイラストも娘は好きなようで，昼間は嬉しそうに絵本をめくっています。

Handmade Gugu and Penfin cookies
Gugu and Penfin has become our “Cuddle Story Time” for my energetic 3 year old son and me. It’s quality time together at the end of busy days when we need a good way to settle down for bed time. The audio works like a charm to help my son feel calm, safe and happy. He also loves the illustrations and we’ve even drawn them onto cookies we made! A beautifully made book.

This children’s book is beautiful. Its quality paper, rounded corners and lush illustration are winning. I quickly gave my copies to friends with kids and they love the book. It’s genius. The QR code that leads to an audio to give the parents a break and the repetition in the story is mesmerising for the children. So relaxing. All of it was put together so carefully and with dedication to detail and quality. A book that will have longevity and delights for years.

I’m always trying to find ways to create an even greater bond with my little French bulldog Sacha. So, when I saw the Gugu and Penfin book with personalised audio, I decided to give it a try. We were both excited when the narrator enthusiastically called out Sacha's name inviting her to a bedtime story with Gugu and Penfin. She definitely liked hearing her name called out and the music combined with the narrator’s ethereal voice, as well as perfect cadence and tone, soon had us both relaxed. I can only imagine the calming effect it must have on a child and how easily they must absorb the cute little tale of Gugu and Penfin. What a great way to wind down a long day in the life of a dog - and her daddy!
